Massive structures are made using water from Lake Shikotsuko, giving the ice structures a mysterious blue hue during the day.  Then illuminated with multi-color lights in the evening. The ice slides and the ice castles were great fun for the kids.  Even the adults were impressed by the massive ice structure especially built for this event.  2012 marks the 34th year of the ice festival.

However, while the trees begin their rest, the orchard shop is still buzzing with activities and the staff are as busy as ever.  With the fruits now harvested, customers coming to the shop will find their favorite apples, fruit jams and Hamada-san’s famous walnut cake made with walnuts grown right here on the orchard.

The Hamada Orchard Shop is open until mid December.  Any tree owner visiting Hokkaido before then, be sure to stop by!

Your orders will be neatly ice-packed in cooler boxes to maintain the highest quality.  To ensure that you can enjoy your seafood at the same high quality, please note the following.

1.   Deliveries to Hokkaido are 3 days after order; 4 days for other parts of Japan.

Daily order cut-off is at 3pm.  Order place after that will count toward the next day.

Example:

Order:  Monday at noon;   Delivery to hotel in Hokkaido:  Thursday evening

Deliver time to outlaying islands will be longer.

2.  For visitors to Japan

- Delivery will be made to your accommodation the night before your departure.

- Input accommodation address in Japan as mailing and shipping address

- Be sure to provide the following info on the comment box when ordering.

Hokkaido Wild Salmon Roe (Ikura)

Our ikura are from salmon caught off the coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula from Sept to Oct.  The roe is mixed with JAS approved organic soy sauce for mild flavoring.  This allows the wonderfully intense natural flavor of the fresh salmon roe to come through without being masked by salt like lesser quality ikura.

Note: To ensure highest quality, please use within one month of purchase.  And once defrosted, please keep in temperature of 10ºC or below and consumed within 5 days.

Hokkaido Large Scallops

The key to preserving the sweet freshness and succulent texture of our Hokkaido scallops is our -20ºC to -40ºC facilities.  Our scallops are individually quick frozen while fresh to lock in the freshness.  Refrigerators and display cases in stores are simply not cold enough to maintain the top quality we offer.

Note: Defrost overnight in refrigerator (preferred) or in room temperature for faster defrosting.  Best prepare to serve before completely defrosted.

The Hokkaido prawns have an unparalleled sweet flavor that is well know.  Our individually quick frozen prawns are freshly caught and preserved in their peak condition in our -20ºC to -40ºC facilities until you  bring them home.
