The Hokkaido Cherry blossoms is a serenely beautiful time of the year.  But at the orchard, the few short days of full bloom is also a busy time for cross-pollination.

Using a large feather brush, the orchard staff delicately collect the pollens from the flowers of one tree and spread it to the flowers of another.  This cross-pollination between the various kinds of cherry trees is critical in producing great cherries.
